Nick Scali is looking for a self-motivated and customer focused full-time National Transport Coordinator!

 

Nick Scali Furniture was established over 50 years ago and is now one of Australia's largest importers of quality furniture. Nick Scali sources its products from around the world.  It imports directly from some of the largest and most respected manufacturers globally. In excess of 4,000 containers annually are brought to Australia by Nick Scali.

 

Due to a growth in the business, an exciting opportunity for an experience Transport Coordinator has become available in our Head Office in Lidcombe.  The key focus of this role is to continuously monitor and coordinate an appropriate and timely resolution of escalated customer delivery issues to ensure effectiveness of delivery service.  This is a key role within the Despatch department and requires excellent communication and negotiation skills, the ability to handle several tasks simultaneously, and liaise with customers and staff.

 

The ideal Nick Scali candidate will have:

  • Strong customer service skills
  • Able to troubleshoot with a customer resolution focus
  • Experience with managing sub-contractors (eg. delivery drivers)

 In your role you will be responsible for:

  • Daily review of outstanding issues unresolved by Despatch Coordinators and Carriers
  • Ensure the Carriers follow Company guidelines, procedures and reasonable management instructions
  • Provide guidance and training for Carriers, and driving improvements in delivery
  • Collaborating closely with relevant departments to ensure issues are being addressed in a timely manner, including answering inquiries from customers and staff regarding delivery
  • Trouble shoot, problem solve and offer the best possible solution to customer queries by ensuring customer satisfaction in every transaction
  • Assess severity of customer service issues with the appropriate sense of urgency
  • Prepare and enter despatch information into the DISTRIB computer system with very high accuracy and in a timely manner
  • Provide induction and training to drivers, and maintain contractor records (eg. contracts, performance issue)
  • Analyse escalations to identify performance opportunities, provide process improvement solutions and streamlining the work
  • Report and log customer concerns or requirements to staff in other departments in an appropriate and timely manner to minimise customer dissatisfaction
  • Escalate unresolved customer escalations to the National Despatch Operations Manager
  • Escalate staff performance issues to the National Despatch Operations Manager
  • Interstate and intrastate travel as required
  • The provision of business performance reports as required
