National Sales Training Manager
Based out of Head Office in Sydney

This is a key influencer role and will have you contributing to the training and development of all sales teams, providing them with the coaching, mentoring and motivation required to exceed sales targets, grow successful showrooms and develop their careers. 


Nick Scali is looking for an influencer, a motivated and passionate retail sales trainer, with a true understanding for customer service and has a finger on the pulse of the current retail market in Australia. We are looking for a candidate with a personality that is infectious, inspirational and can command a room of Senior Store Managers and a Regional Manager. 


As part of your role you will be partnering with the design and purchasing team to ensure detailed product knowledge is successfully passed on to stores regularly to maximise the sales teams ability to ensure their product knowledge is exceptional. 


This role is autonomous and will give you opportunities to travel Australia regularly, so the desired candidate will be self motivated and career driven with a clear goal to see the business grow. 





Reporting through to the National Retail Manager, you will be responsible for driving the results of the sales team nationally. This role will have you responsible for, but not limited to:

  • Upholding Nick Scali's reputation for customer service excellence
  • Driving a customer centric and expert sales culture throughout all stores, providing the Store Managers and in store Sales Consultants with coaching and development sessions to ensure their business growth
  • Develop and improve training materials and ensure their distribution and advise on implementation and regularly follow up on results
  • Constant communication with the design and buying team to pipeline product knowledge through to the stores to maximise Sales Team knowledge and customer experience
  • Ensuring all new recruits have thorough sales training, perfecting induction methods to ensure adherence to all policy and procedures before recruits commence work on the showroom floor
  • Giving regular feedback to Regional Managers and National Manager regarding your evaluation of in store experience, customer feedback and the current sales standards within store
  • Provide the feedback necessary to identify current skill gaps and put together individual coaching opportunities to strengthen the team overall
  • Identify key areas of improvement and gaps within the current sales training required to capitalise on the dynamic Australian furniture market
  • Investigating all currently utilised sales training methods available in the market and improving on all techniques available to the sales teams to drive results
  • Review and ensure that all team members are across all current company policies and procedures and adhere to guidelines to improve the performance of the sales teams 




We are looking for an engaging Sales Training Manager who has proven track record and sales results in a retail environment or similar industry. You will have a unbridled passion for the growth and development of high performing sales teams as well as an understanding of the expectations that a discerning client has when purchasing high ticket items.


As well as this it is expected that you have:

  • Exceptionally strong presentation skills and the ability to create engaging content that inspires, motivates and optimises behaviour
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal allowing you to manage the expectations of a wide variety of individuals, across all stores regions and immediate stakeholders
  • Historical records proving your success within a similar role at a national level or in a senior state position
  • Evidence of training programs both traditional and modern that you have designed/utilised and executed within a retail environment to improve overall sales results
  • An elevated understanding of retail analytics management including, but not limited to, KPI management
  • Experience in HR and recruitment management, including on boarding and induction training
  • A desire to work under the Nick Scali brand, proven by your knowledge of the company and the current furniture market
  • Understanding of current workplace safety regulations and maintain safe working environments for all team members 
  • Be driven by the challenge of motivating and training team members to achieve and exceed sales targets
  • The ability to work autonomously, manage yourself and your time effectively to deliver business requirements
  • Unrestricted travel ability, this role will have you ready to go to the stores and regions that need you. A valid drivers licence is required along with your own vehicle.
