Nick Scali Furniture was established over 50 years ago and is now one of Australia's largest importers of quality furniture. Nick Scali sources its products from around the world.  It imports directly from some of the largest and most respected manufacturers globally. In excess of 4,000 containers annually are brought to Australia by Nick Scali.


The successful person we are looking for should be able to draw from their operational warehouse management experience to ensure daily operations are executed to meet both customer and company service levels.  With focused and committed approach to ensuring our products get to the customer, they must be a people leader who is able to instil high productivity across all levels within the warehouse along with developing and coaching those around them. Communicating effectively at all levels comes naturally to them and will see them engaging with key internal and external stakeholders.


Their desire to continually look to improve operations and draw on their previous experience in high performing logistics environments is fundamental as well as ensuring compliance throughout the site at all times to maintain a safe working environment. 


Due to an expansion, this role and the warehouse staff will be relocating to Horsley Park in April/May 2017 from our current Lidcombe Distribution Centre.


You will work in a team and your primary responsibility will:

  • Oversee the daily function of the distribution centre which includes maintaining a clean and safe distribution centre at all times
  • Manage the warehouse team
  • Ensure the Health and Safety Policy is implemented and adhered to at all times
  • Control wage costs
  • In conjunction with the National Despatch Manager, manage driver sub-contractors and ensure they are adhering to the contractor agreement
  • Meet damage warehouse targets
  • Control weekly inventory and undertake reporting
  • Ensure that store movements are followed up and finalised weekly

To achieve success in this role you will need the following.



  • Extensive experience in a similar operations, warehouse and/or logistics role within a high volume warehouse environment
  • Previous experience in leading, developing and motivating a large team to meet and exceed KPI's
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities and anticipate needs
  • Detail-oriented and well organised
  • Proven ability to succeed in the day to day management of a warehouse
  • Strong leadership skills including the capability to drive improvement
  • Strong business management skills with strengths in many areas such as service, customer service, warehouse, operations, logistics and inventory management
  • Excellent skills in word processing and integrated data base systems
  • Proven WHS background


  • Tertiary qualification in a logistic related discipline
  • Similar experience and proven track record in the retail furniture industry
